Horley Gas Mains Work
We are starting work in London Road, Redhill to replace our old gas mains and services with new plastic pipe to ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply to the local area.
In consultation with Surrey County Council, our project will start on Monday 24 June and is expected to be completed by 12 Aug. Our contractor Medway Civils will be carrying out this work on our behalf.
To ensure everybody’s safety we will need to manage the access around the site, the details of the traffic management are explained below.
The first phase of the project will be along London Road..
- Two-way lights will be in place between the junctions of Claremont road and Colesmead road with London road, Bus stops will be affected as we move along the road.
- To help the traffic flow, the lights will be manually operated 07:00 and 19:00.
The second phase will continue as follows…
- During the work in this phase we will need to close a lane on the London Road from opposite IMC WORLDWIDE to O/S NO.84 London road.
- We will also be closing both Frenches road and Carlton road at their junctions with the London road. Access to both roads will be from the opposite end.
We understand that people can get frustrated by roadworks. However, the new plastic pipe has a minimum lifespan of 80 years. This means that when the work is complete, Redhill residents will continue to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply for years to come.
